Leverhulme Staff Inset Day: Our Why
Monday, 2nd September 2024
On Monday, 2nd September 2024, our entire Trust staff came together at Rivington and Blackrod High School for an inspiring Inset Day, marking the beginning of the new academic year and providing a valuable opportunity for all staff to unite before the new school year starts on Wednesday, 4th September 2024.
The theme for this year's event was "Our Why," focusing on our purpose and the fundamental reasons we do what we do. The day was designed to inspire and reaffirm our collective commitment to making a difference in the lives of our students and the wider community.
We were honoured to welcome guest speaker James Aidoo, an inspirational powerhouse known for his passion for learners and leaders alike. James delivered a motivating session centred on "Our Why," encouraging staff to reflect on their personal and professional purpose. His words resonated with our staff, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
We also announced the introduction of our Leverhulme Values in Practice Awards. These awards are designed to celebrate and recognise the exceptional contributions of our staff. The categories include:
- The Leverhulme Award – Recognising outstanding contributions across Leverhulme.
- The Students First Award – Celebrating individuals who have made a significant impact on the lives of others.
- The High Expectations Award – Honouring those who consistently pursue excellence.
- The Integrity Award – Recognising individuals who consistently demonstrate integrity in their actions and decisions.
Further details about the awards will be shared in the coming months, as we look forward to celebrating the incredible work of our staff.
